"If Foreign, Then Cleaner": Individual Corruption Perceptions and Support for Free Trade in Developing Nations Permalink

Do perceptions of domestic corruption shape public opinion on free trade? We find such effects in developing nations. Positive views of foreign countries and firms are mediators. Results show a “foreignness cue” drives support.
